Assessment/ Study of Community-Level Child Protection Mechanisms in Cox’s Bazar

Narrative Description of Project:
CPSS is supporting the existing child protection mechanism in the afore-mentioned area in every possible way, there are still some limitations. Lack of knowledge regarding the present mechanism of child protection on community level – whether it exists or not- is one of the limitations. The impact of the support provided by CPSS needs to be evaluated. Hence, the main goal of this study was to explore the preceding and current situation of the community-level child protection mechanism of Cox’s Bazar, and gaining a better understanding of the circumstances which will assist to implement the CPSS strategy more successfully and affectively.
Responsibilities: Support in preparing data collection tools. Conducting FGD and KIIs. Survey data cleaning, coding and analysis.
End-Line Evaluation of Project Titled “Strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction and Livelihoods Capacities in Refugee-Affected Communities in Cox's Bazar"

Narrative Description of Project:
Cox's Bazar is naturally prone to cyclones, huge tidal waves, landslides, and floods because it is located on the coast. With the influx of Rohingya refugees in 2017, the situation worsened in terms of arranging proper disaster risk reduction activities for the larger number of habitats in the area (with the habitation of 9,20,994 Rohingya refugees, and previously habituated host population, the current population of the area is 1.2 million). The enormous population pressure has an impact on the local community, environment, and socioeconomic situation. In the Ramu, Moheshkhali, Ukhiya, and Teknaf upazilas of Cox's Bazar, there are various challenges surrounding disaster preparedness, sanitation, and infrastructural support due to limited access to refugeeaffected communities. Natural calamities such as cyclones, floods, and a shortage of water and sanitation are all typical occurrences in this region. The project's goals are to provide DRR-focused shelter assistance, build local DRR procedures and institutional capacities, increase host community resilience through improved livelihoods, income creation, and short-term employment possibilities, and provide WASH assistance. The project came to a close in February 2022 due to a number of setbacks, including the Covid-19 epidemic.
Responsibilities: Support in preparing data collection tools. Supervise, plan, and design data collection process, support and validating qualitative and quantitative data collection in Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazila of Cox’s Bazar from host communities and Rohingya camps. Statistical data analysis, interpretation and report writing.
Baseline Study of Building Climate Adaptive Farming Opportunities and Improved Livelihoods for Women and Marginalized Groups in Nepal

Practical Action Nepal Office has been implementing a 3 years’ project titled “Building climate adaptive farming opportunities and improved livelihoods for women and marginalised groups in Nepal” in eight Rural/Municipalities of three districts; Dang (Dangisaran & Shantinagar municipalities), Rolpa (Rumtigadi, Triveni, Thawang & Pariwartan) and Rukum East (Bhume & Puthauttarganga) of Lumbini Province in Nepal since January 2022. The project is co-funded by the UK Aid Match fund and is being implemented through a local NGO- Development Concern Society (DECOS) at Libang, Rolpa. The project works directly with 6,000 beneficiaries (women: 4,691, men: 1,092 and people with a disability: 217), farmers’ cooperatives, CSOs, women networks, agro-vets, business service providers, insurance companies, bank and financial institutions, development partners and local government.
Responsibilities: Assist in WEAI survey calculation strategy. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality and data monitoring in Kobo Toolbox. Data integrity and normalization. Quality assurance of imported data. Presentation of data analysis outcome. Assist in report writing.
External Evaluation of Human Trafficking Prosecution Project in Bangladesh

Human trafficking is a heinous crime against humanity. Human trafficking is the equivalent of modern-day slavery. As a result, it is not simply a Bangladeshi concern, but a worldwide concern. Bangladesh, in collaboration with other regional and international partners, is working hard to eradicate this problem. Human trafficking is growing at an alarming rate. Trafficking for sexual exploitation, forced prostitution, domestic slavery, forced labor, and other exploitations are among the most prominent forms of trafficking in Bangladesh.
Responsibilities: Mobile Based data collection tool preparation (Kobo toolbox). Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. Regular data monitoring in KoBo.
